Toque de
Queda

During the nationwide strickt curfews at the start of the Corona pandemic in 2020, in Colombia every person had a different experience depending on social status, personal situation, health, economical standing and other factors, and yet most of us experienced similar sensations as well. Uncertainty, Anxiety, the distortion of what we perceive as time, social isolation and more. Items like masks, desinfectant, gloves or soap became omnipresent in almost everyone’s life and will forever be connected to the pandemic for everyone who experienced it.

Toque de Queda is a collaboration with the artist and photographer Raisa Galofre. Together we experienced the first strict lockdown at her families house which we were not able to leave during four months. During this long time each of us was allowed to go to the supermarket 4 to 5 times by taxi alone and had to return immediately. The series comments on the sometimes bizarre and often times frustrating experience and is part of a group of works documenting this global phenomenon („Temporarily Closed“, „Pu, Drop, Repeat“, „Echando Pa’lante“ and „Toque de Queda“).
